A: We specialize in Asian food and beauty brands, but we also have experience in helping Asian brands in the other industries. Calywire has helped brands in electronics, health, media and sports athletics come into the U.S. market, and we’ve even helped government organizations with their digital marketing! Q: Why do Asian companies experience difficulty launching their brands in the U.S. market?

A: Asian markets tend to be very similar and what works for a brand in Korea can work for them in Japan with very little change. This means that many brands assume the same will be true of a move into the U.S. market, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Although the United States are a single country, each state has a distinct culture that makes marketing in the U.S. more like marketing to fifty different countries rather than just one.

Because the U.S. is a nation of immigrants who brought their own cultures and values with them, there are at least eleven different cultural regions in the U.S. that any marketing plan must take into account. Each of those eleven cultural regions is a unique consumer market and unlike taking a product from Japan to Korea or vice versa, someone from the Midwest won’t see a product in the same way that someone from the East Coast does.
